James Eads led the game in scoring with 22 points, eight rebounds and two steals in the win over Benedict College 80-63.
Benedict College scored the first two points of the contest followed by a 3-point-shot by Tuskegee's Kaleb Morton. Morton had six points in the first half shooting 66%, finishing with nine points 50% from beyond the arc 3-for-6.
Kaleb Morton got a technical foul late in the first half with a 16 point lead 44-28.
James Eads sent the Golden Tigers to the locker room by draining a jump shot to add to the lead.
In the second half, Tuskegee continued to add to their lead after a steal from Deshawn Millington turned into a fastbreak dunk by Myles Thomas to contribute the lead (48-28).
Benedict College faced their biggest deficit midway in the second half (11:03) after an and-one layup by Myles Thomas brought the score to 63-37. Thomas finished 16 points, shooting 50% from the floor (6-for-12).
Tuskegee moves up to 8-5 on the season and move to 1st place in their division at 6-1 in their conference
Tuskegee returns to action Saturday, January 6th against Paine College. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:30 pm CST at Chappie James Arena.
