The Tuskegee University softball team puts its three-game winning streak on the line this weekend when they welcome rival Miles College to campus and the TU Softball Field for a three-game series. Friday's single game gets underway at 3 p.m. while TU will honor its seniors after game one of Saturday's 1 p.m. doubleheader.
Dating back to 2014, TU holds an 8-4 record, but has dropped the last two meetings against the Golden Bears. MC enters the contest with a 6-30 record overall and a conference mark of 5-9 along with a four-game losing streak. Zakierra Webb has the big bat with a .370 BA. She has notched 37 hits and posted 28 RBI so far this season. Miles only posted one homerun this season and it belongs to Davis Watkins.
At 10-23 overall and 8-5 in the SIAC, Skegee is looking to make it three out of its last four in conference series wins. The .380 BA posted by
Kendra Gibbons leads the Golden Tigers. She has also posted a team high 30 hits and three homers.
Chelsea Mowery and
Jasmyne Lawrence are both tied with 24 hits and 18 RBI apiece.
Friday's single game with Miles College Starts at 3 p.m. The series will conclude Saturday with a doubleheader at 1 p.m.
