Kentucky State's pitching allowed just three earned runs over 14 innings which was enough to get past Tuskegee Saturday at Alumni Park in Frankfurt, Kentucky.

GAME ONE: KENTUCKY STATE 15, TUSKEGEE 4
Kentucky State did all of its damage over the first two innings, including an 11-run second inning, to post the victory in the opener.

The Thorobreds took advantage of some wildness by the TU starter, who walked eight and hit two more batters. KSU struck for 11 hits in the two innings for the entirety of the Thorobreds' offense.

Senior Jordan Ransom (Ringgold, GA) finished the game 2-for-3 with his team-leading eighth homer, three runs scored and three RBI. Senior Bryan Wilson(Chattanooga, TN) drove in a team-high four RBI, going 2-for-3 and a run scored.

Senior Cam Starks (Alpharetta, GA) was 2-for-3 with three runs scored and two RBI.

Senior Joe Crisp, 4-4, (Shelbyville, KY) allowed four runs (two earned) on seven hits with seven strikeouts. It was his Division II-leading eighth complete game of the season.

GAME TWO: KENTUCKY STATE 7, TUSKEGEE 5
The first five batters reached in the first inning, including a leadoff blast from senior Jay Poullard (Louisville, KY) in the four-run first. Sophomore Adren Thompson(Lexington, KY) drove home a run with a double and then Ransom added a two-run double to complete the scoring.  

A sacrifice fly by Poullard and an RBI double by Starks led to two runs in the second, and a leadoff triple by Ransom – who scored on a wild pitched capped the KSU scoring.

The Golden Tigers started to chip away at its 7-1 deficit with individual runs in the fifth and sixth innings. A pair of one-out errors in the seventh inning helped TU push two more runs across the board, and put the tying runs on the base.

With Tuskegee building momentum, Kentucky State brought in its hammer in senior closer Ransom. He promptly induced a fly out and pop out to end the game. He picked up his fourth save of the season. At the plate, he was 3-for-3 with a double, triple, one run scored and two RBI.

Starks and Thompson with 2-for-3 with a run scored and RBI, while junior Kevin Givhan II (Chicago, IL) was 2-for-3 with a run scored.

Junior Brady Bibbs, 6-0, (Hornersville, MO) yielded just one earned run, five total runs, on seven hits with three strikeouts in 6 1/3 innings.

TU Will have a chance to make up some ground in the series Sunday afternoon when the two teams collide again in another doubleheader that gets underway at 12 p.m. ET
