Baseball takes two on the road at Paine College

The Tuskegee University baseball team won its third straight game Saturday afternoon after winning a pair of games at Paine College located in Augusta, Ga. TU topped the Lions 7-6 in game one and dominated game two with a 20-3 final.
 
In game one, the Golden Tigers rallied to score six runs in the seventh inning in a come from behind effort. Trailing 6-0 through five innings, Corey Stallings got helped the team get its first run when grounded allowing Ryan Green to score an unearned run to make the score 6-1.

The seventh inning is when the bats came alive, starting a huge rally that started with Emory Willis getting hit by pitch with the bases loaded allowing Joshua Lewis to score. Moments later Green would score again after a Mathew Reed two RBI double that also scored Johnson, which brought the game two within two runs, 6-4.

Willis brought the game to within a run after he scored on Elgin Woodside play that grounded out to short stop. Stallings tied the game with an RBI triple that scored Reed. Ronald McGhee drove in the winning run with an RBI single that scored Stallings to give TU a 7-6 lead.

Christian Marshall picked on the win striking out seven Lions on the afternoon.
In game two, a big fifth inning opened the floods gates for the Golden Tigers to sweep Saturday's action. Already leading 8-0 after four innings, Caleb Nelson came hit the team's first homerun of the season and he did so emphatically with a Grand Slam that drove in Stallings, Woodside and Reed.

After the fifth inning, TU then lead 15-1. Every player in the lineup scored at least twice and earned multiple hits with the exception of one. Jared Steele was a perfect 3-of-3 with three runs scored and one RBI. Nelson came away with a career high four RBI on the day.

Hunter Hudson earned the win for the Golden Tigers pitching all seven innings, striking out seven batters.
