The Golden Tigers were defeated in their final non-conference game against the University of Alabama Birmingham 103-60.

University of Alabama Birmingham got off to a quick start by scoring seven of the first 10 points of the game. They kept the hot streak going and advanced their lead to 20 points at the end of the first quarter 28-8. 

The Golden Tigers shot a season low 25.6% (10-39) from the floor in the first half. UAB forward Zakyia Weathersby scored 14 points in the first half and finished with a career high 30 points, 12 rebounds and three blocks. 

By the end of the first half, the Golden Tigers found themselves down 50-28. 

The start of the 3rd quarter, The Golden Tigers struggled to convert possessions into points. UAB remained in control during the third quarter by increasing their lead to 30 points by the end of the quarter 77-47. 

India Blakely & Ashila Jackson combined for 26 points and were the only Golden Tigers who finished the night in double figures. 

The Golden Tigers will return home to face Benedict College on January 4th. Tip-off is set for 1:30 pm CST.
