Kaleb Morton made a career-high four three pointers and the Tuskegee University men's basketball team ran past the Kentucky State Thorobreds 65-61 Saturday evening inside the Chappie James Center. The win gives TU their best record through 15 games in 19 years as they improve to 10-5 overall and 5-1 in Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference play.

Morton paced the Golden Tigers with 14 points and four rebounds including four from behind the arc. Riley Hamilton added 13 points while Joshua Culver and Jordan Lewis chipped in 11 points. Lewis is the reason why there was such a disparity with points off the bench with TU dominating 20-8.

Both teams played to a 28-28 tie at halftime while while also shooting 45 percent from the field. 

With 15:01 left to play in the game, Deandre Wynn made a pair of free throws to put KSU ahead 36-34, but Hamilton responded for TU with a three pointer to put his team back up, 37-34. The Golden Tigers would never look back again.
