Trey Nelson fell to 1-4 on the season despite striking out four batters in six innings of work at Montevallo Wednesday afternoon in a mid-week affair. He allowed four runs on five hits in the 7-1 loss.
Caleb Ledbetter got the Falcons on the board with a triple down the right-field line and scored
Collin Dupree to give Montevallo a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the first inning. In the second inning, the Golden Tigers'
Tayari Albright hit a home run into left field to tie the game at 1-1.
Chad Wagner went deep in the bottom of the fourth inning to add three runs (4-1) to the Falcons lead.
Sebastian Samuels pushed the Falcons lead to 7-1 in the bottom of the seventh inning off a two-RBI single.
Lucas Ellenburg was credited with his first win of the season and went pitched three innings. Ellenburg recorded two strikeouts and allowed just one hit.
Gabriel Selochan and
Christian Marshall also saw time at the mound for TU.
Both teams mounted up a total of seven hits and left eight runners on base on the day. Montevallo was credited with two errors while the Golden Tigers notched one on the afternoon.
One week from today, Tuskegee will host the University of Alabama-Huntsville at Paterson Field in Montgomery. First pitch for the single game is set for 4 p.m.
