Myles Thomas came up with huge baskets down the stretch to help the Tuskegee University men's basketball team secure 69-60 win over Kentucky State on Crimson Strong Senior Night Monday evening at Chappie James Arena. It marked the final home game of the season for the Golden Tigers before their regular season comes to an end at Albany State Friday night.

Flagg who was honored on senior night sat out due to an injury, but Thomas was able to fill his scoring void with the Golden Tigers trailing the Thorobreds 47-46 with 8:10 left to play. The Bainebridge (Ga.) native went on to score 12 out of the team's next 16 points, which included a 16-4 run capped off by a James Eads free throw that made the score 62-51 with 1:20 left in the game.

Eads led TU with 20 points while Thomas added 17 points and six rebounds. Jaylan Shelton came off the bench to chip in 11 points and five boards. Daniel Roach and Thomas Massey each collected seven rebounds apiece.  Ray Croon scored a game-high 22 points and pulled down 11 rebounds for Kentucky State.

The Golden Tigers outscored KSU in the paint 42-36 and got more second chance points (12-8) than the Thorobreds as well.

KSU only shot 27.8 percent from three point range converting on 5-of-18. The Golden Tigers' lone three pointer came from Roach.

TU closes out the regular season Friday night at Albany State and the tip off is set for 6:00 p.m. CT. Next week the Golden Tigers will compete at 2018 SIAC Basketball Tournament that takes place Feb. 26-March 3 at the Birmingham CrossPlex in Birmingham (Ala.)
