MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The Tuskegee University baseball team began a two-game weekend series at Auburn University-Montgomery on Friday evening, falling to the Warhawks 4-1 in Montgomery, Ala.
AUM got on the scoreboard in the fourth inning, using a double and single from Khoury and senior first baseman
Curtiss Johnson in back-to-back at bats to plate Khoury and put the Warhawks up 1-0. The Warhawks added to the lead in the fifth, capitalizing on a TU throwing error by the catcher to the third baseman with the bases loaded to score junior right fielder
Aaron Hill. Leading off the sixth with a walk, Khoury rounded the bases for the second time off a two-out single from Moman.
The Golden Tigers cut into the separation in the seventh inning, starting the stanza with a single from Selochan who later scored off a two-out double by
Keldric Burton.
The Warhawks recreated the three-run lead in the bottom of the seventh, leading off with a double from Langley and platting him on a Khoury single. Hank Scott got the start on the mound for AUM, holding TU to one run off six hits with five strikeouts in seven innings of work for the victory.
TU tallied eight with one extra-base hit and forced the Warhawks to leave seven runners on base versus three for the Golden Tigers. Tuskegee had two errors in the contest, both leading to AUM runs. The Warhawks had none.
