Riding the wave of a two game winning streak, the Tuskegee University basketball team prepares for a rematch with Auburn University-Montgomery Monday night inside AUM Gymnasium in Montgomery (Ala.). The Golden Tigers are looking to avenge an 11-point loss when the two teams met last month at 7:00 p.m.
Tuskegee (2-4, 1-0 SIAC) comes into Monday's contest winners of their last two games, with a 55-51 home win over Claflin University in their most recent action on Thursday, Nov. 29 and a 69-56 win over Clark-Atlanta University on Monday, Nov. 26 in their first Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) contest of the season.
The Golden Tigers are averaging 64.2 points per game, while allowing opponents to score 69.5 a game. Tuskegee is currently shooting 43 percent from the field, just over 37 percent from the three-point line, and just over 72 percent from the charity stripe on the season.
Two 'Skegee players are currently averaging in double figures, with
Myles Thomas's 15.7 points per game pace leading the way offensively and
Riley Hamilton's 11 points per contest ranking second on the team.
Joshua Culver's 5.5 rebounds per game leads a Golden-Tiger squad averaging 32.2 boards per game.
The Warhawks amassed their second-highest point total of the season and their second highest field-goal (48 percent) and three-point percentage (45 percent) in their dramatic 80-78 setback against UAH their last time out on Saturday, Dec. 1. In a game that featured 12 ties and 18 lead changes, three Warhawks tallied double-digit points, including
Darrion Taylor, who matched a career-high 24 points in the game.
The Warhawks are currently averaging 72.1 points per game, with three players averaging in double figures.
Carlos Bell leads the way offensively with a 16.1 points per game mark, while
Tre Hansbrough (12.4) and Taylor (12.3) account for the other two Warhawks averaging in double digits this season.
