The Tuskegee University men's and women's basketball teams will host Auburn University-Montgomery Tuesday evening in a double-header from Chappie James Arena. The 38.5 mile road trip for the Warhawks is also the home opener for TU and both games will be available via the
Tuskegee Digital Network (Audio).
Head coach Trelanne Powell's team enters the contest after a thrilling 44-42 road win over the University of West Georgia last week. Their 2-1 record marks the best start for the Golden Tigerettes in five years. Newcomers
Alexis Carter and
Eleana Daniels currently leads the team in scoring. Carter averages 14 points, 12 rebounds and three blocked shots per outing while Daniels adds 11 points per game and pulls down five boards per game. Carter scored a game-high 22 points and nine rebounds in the season opener against AUM.
The AUM women's team (0-3) will be looking to avenge a 62-50 loss to the Golden Tigers in their most recent matchup on Nov. 9 to open up the season. Through three games, Brewster leads the charge offensively, averaging 15.7 points per contest, a mark that also ranks for sixth in the Gulf South Conference. The Freshman guard has knocked down a GSC-best 14 treys, while also averaging a conference-high 4.6 threes per game, and ranks fifth in the GSC with a 38 percent three-point shooting percentage.
On the men's side, the Golden Tigers are still in search of its first win of the season suffering losses at Valdosta State and last season's SIAC Champion, Claflin.

The last time the two team met, TU won a 77-68 battle at home. However, they split the season series a year ago with the Warhawks winning the first meeting by two, 68-66.
Tip-off is set for 5:30 p.m. for the women's game with the men to follow shortly afterwards.
