The 2018-19 edition of the Tuskegee University men's basketball team will get unveiled Tuesday evening when the Golden Tigers open its regular season at Valdosta State. TU played a pair of exhibition games over the course of the last two weeks in preparation for their road opener.

Gone are James Eads and Travis Flagg, but the Golden Tigers still return quite a few familiar names from a year ago. Myles Thomas comes back as the team's only double digit scorer.  Last season he produced 11 points per game and four rebounds per outing. The Tallahassee, Fla. native scored in double figures eight times including a season-high 18 points against Clark Atlanta. Thomas averaged 30 minutes per game and shot 38 percent from the field. Joshua Culver, Cam Grepke, Gregg Boyd and Jason Pasley will also be looked upon to assists in the team's scoring needs.

The Blazers were picked to win the Gulf South Conference in the preseason poll announced last month.  VSU garnered 11 of 13 first place votes and 143 points.  West Florida was picked second with 118 points, while Delta State was third with one first place nod and 114 points.

Beau Justice was named to the Preseason All-GSC Team as he ascended into one of the top basketball players in the country over the last two seasons for the Red and Black. Justice has helped lead the Blazers to a 37-5 record in league play over the last two years and became just the third player in school history to reach 1,000 career points in two seasons or less, placing him on the company of Tyrone Curnell and all-time scoring leader and Blazer Athletics Hall of Famer Eddie Brown.   Last season, Justice was named GSC Player of the Year, D2CCA South Region Player of the Year and named National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) Division II All-America.

The Golden Tigers and Blazers tip things off Tuesday night at 7:30 p.m. ET. A live stream will be available through VSU
