Golden Tigers hang on to top LeMoyne Owen Saturday evening

Tuskegee outscored LeMoyne College 40-34 in the second half, handing the team its seventh loss of the season Saturday night with a 65-62 win at Chappie James Arena. 

James Eads scored a game high 24 points on 6-of-15 shooting from the field, his fourth time scoring 20 or more points for the Golden Tigers. Travis Flagg, the only other player in double figures added points including a pair of three pointers.  

The league's leading scorer in Reshun Eillis was held to 11 points below his average.  He entered the game producing 24.4 points per outing. Jaequan Brown led the Magicians with 20 points on the day.

TU trailed by three points 28-25 at halftime before LOC opened up its largest lead of the game, with a commanding 38-30 advantage with 14:25 left to play. That is when the Golden Tigers went on a 13-0 run, over the next eight minutes which included a three point play by Eads along with a 12 foot jump shot and three pointer by Jason Pasley, who finished with six points.

Tuskegee's biggest lead came at the 13:15 minute mark of the first half when they lead by seven points. The Golden Tigers finished with a season low nine turnovers and forced 14 from the Magicians scoring 14 points from those mistakes.

The Golden Tigers remain at home Monday hosting Lane College in a double-header with the women that starts at 5 p.m.
