The Tuskegee University women's basketball team faces a pivotal West Division road trip this weekend starting with Kentucky State Saturday and closing out with Central State on Monday.  Saturday's game with the Thorobreds starts at 12 p.m.

Kentucky State (4-11, 4-4) enters having won its last game for over Paine College and is led by Eric Jones, who was recently named Southern Intercollegiate (SIAC) Newcomer of the Week this past Tuesday.  Jones made her mark for the Thorobrettes as she helped them to a 1-1 record with their 69-67 win over the Panthers. As a result, KSU has won two of their last three games, as they venture into a three-game stretch against SIAC west division opponents. In the feat against PC, the South Haven, Mississippi native collected her second double-double of the season with a game-high 17 points and 12 rebounds. The freshman finished the week with 21 points, 19 rebounds, one assist, a block and a steal. Jones currently leads the team in rebounds, rebound average, and steals while following close behind teammate, senior guard Brittani Rizzi, in scoring, scoring average and field goals. The freshman sits atop the conference ranks as she is No. 4 in rebounds (No. 6 – offensive rebounds/No. 8 – defensive rebounds), No. 5 in Blocked Shots, and No. 13 in Field Goal Percentage.

TU enters the game after a pair of career games from Junior forward, Jade Wilson.  The Indianapolis, Ind. native topped her season-high 22 points scored last Thursday against Benedict with a 24-point, 14-rebound effort at Claflin. Wilson finished the week with a 46 total points, 18 rebounds, six steals, one assist, and a block. This past week's SIAC Player of the Week leads the team in almost every category including scoring, scoring average, free throws, field goals, rebounds, rebound average, and steals.
