* Tuskegee owns the overall series record against Lane College 21-0. Head coach Willie
Slater is a perfect 10-0 all-time against the Dragons

* Last Saturday's 61 points allowed was the most a Tuskegee defense has surrendered in
63 years. The Golden Tigers fell to Xavier 68-0 in 1954. It also marked the most points
allowed by a non-conference opponent since North Greenvile scored 45 points in last
season's NCAA Playoff game

In last season's 38-7 victory over Lane, the Dragons came into the contest averaging a
SIAC-best 265.7 yards per game on the ground, and they were held to just 86 yards. As a
unit, Tuskegee held Lane to just 156 yards of total offense – 227 yards below their season
average.

* Tuskegee has one player that hails from the state of Tennessee. Senior WR Jeff Bowens
is from Chattanooga, which is 256 miles from Jackson, home of Lane College

* Three former Golden Tigers continue to give back to their alma mater, returning to the
sidelines is: Kelvin Powell, Ramone Nickerson and Andre Brunson.

* Tuskegee forces an average of two turnovers per game which has them ranked 8th in the
country. That margin also totals to +2 so far this season in SIAC

* Since arriving in 2006, Willie Slater is 33-13 in the month of Septebmber. The loss
against Albany State in week two was his first Sept. loss since falling at home to Alabama A&M in 2014.

* Tuskegee University and the Tuskegee University Athletic Department announce that
the university's 2017 homecoming game has been rescheduled from November 4 to the
Golden Tigers' matchup with the Central State Marauders on October 28. The change in
the date for homecoming will not affect the 1 p.m. scheduled kickoff time on October 28

*For the third consecutive year, and the seventh time in school history, Tuskegee University
football finished second in attendance in NCAA Division II according to the numbers
released by the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA). The Golden Tigers
finished first among schools in the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference

* Marquez Burdette has made the best out of his touches at running back. The Atlanta,
Georgia native is averaging 8.6 yards per carry. Burdette also attended West Lake HS
which is the same school Cam Newton attended

* Out of 10 games this season, seven will be played on the road. Tuskegee is featured
in three annual classics leaving only three home games in 2017

*Slater's 103 wins are second-most in school history behind Cleve Abbott's 202 wins
from 1923-54.

*Frank Lee and Ken Woodard will provided commentary for the 2017 football season. Lee
returns to booth after providing play-by-play duties for the Golden Tigers for over 25
years. Woodard will provide color analysis for the network. The former TU great played
linebacker with the Denver Broncos, San Diego Chargers and the Pittsburgh Steelers. He is
also known as the first Tuskegee player to compete in a Super Bowl during the 1986-87
