Golden Tigers looking to create a winning streak on the road Tuesday

After winning their first game of the season last Saturday against Spring Hill College, the Tuskegee University men's basketball team is hoping to start a winning streak.  The Golden Tigers are on the road Tuesday afternoon at Valdosta State for a 6:30 p.m. Gulf South Conference collision.

In the 72-66 win over SHC, Tuskegee (1-7, 1-2) guard James Eads scored a season high 32 points on 10-of-15 shooting from the field. The Orlando native made a trio of three pointers while also connecting on all nine of his free throw attempts. TU shot 48.9% (22-45) overall and 33.3% (8-24) from three point range. Travis Flagg pitched in 14 points along with eight assists. As a team, Skegee made 87% (20-23) of their free throws.

The last time the two teams met, The Golden Tigers got outscored in the second half 41-31 and surrendered 20 second chance points en route to a 75-61 loss.  TU trailed 34-30 at halftime and only led for 5:26 minutes of the game versus 29:23 for Valdosta State.  Tuskegee also struggled in the rebounding category getting doubled up 45-28 on the boards.
 
Gregg Boyd led the Golden Tigers, scoring 18 of the team's 22 points off the bench including 5-of-9 from three-point range in last month's affair with the Blazers. Eads went on tpo leard TU with with 13 points and four assists. Myles Thomas chipped in eight points while Thomas Massey pull down eight rebounds.
 
Tuesday game is set for a 6:30 p.m. start time on the campus of Valdosta State.
