Women's basketball heads to Pensacola for non-conference tilt

The Tuskegee University women's basketball team is on the road for a non-conference game with the University of West Florida Thursday evening at 6:00 p.m. at the UWF Field House. A game that can be heard live on the Tuskegee Digital Network at 5:55 p.m.

The Gulf South opponent will be the third Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) team UWF has faced this season.  The Argonauts defeated Albany State and Fort Valley State respectively.  

Junior Halee Nieman scored 17 points to lead three players in double figures as UWF was dominant on defense, defeating Saint Leo, 71-47, in their home opener this past Sunday. Meanwhile after its win at Auburn-Montgomery last Tuesday, the Golden Tigers are losers of their last two (Young Harris College and Clark Atlanta).

In the conference opener against, Tuskegee (1-5, 0-1 SIAC) outscored the Lady Panthers, erasing a double-digit deficit and cutting the CAU's lead to three points with seven seconds remaining.  But Holloway hit two free throws in the final seconds to put the game away.

The two teams last meeting was in 2013 with UWF winning 83-57. Fans can also watch the game live via UWF Athletics.
