Series history with Jackson State - 5th Quarter Classic
* Tuskegee has not played since 1993 when JSU - who leads the series 2-1 - won 24-12. The very first meeting took place in 1912. Last season the Golden Tigers participated in the inaugural 5th Quarter Classic defeating Florida A&M 20-17

Tuskegee in 2017 Classic
* The annual 5th Quarter Classic marks the third and final classic the Golden Tigers will participate in this season.  TU defeated Alabama State in its season opening Labor Day Classic but dropped the White Water Classic in early September

Thomas returns home
Mobile native Davoris Thomas will play in front of hometown fans Saturday. The second leading tackler with 48 stops played at Spanish Fort High School 

Thompson the tackling machine
*Senior linebacker Osband Thompson's 82 tackles has him ranked second overall in the nation. He currently averages 13.4 per game with a total of 53 solos  

Slater vs. The SWAC
* Since arriving at Tuskegee in 2006, Willie Slater is 7-7 versus schools from the Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC)

Redzone Defense
*Tuskegee is ranked 10th nationally and second in the SIAC in Redzone Defense.  The Golden Tigers have only allowed its opponents to score 60 percent of the time they enter the area

Tuskegee Digital Network
Frank Lee and Ken Woodard will provided commentary for the 2017 football season.  Lee returns to booth after providing play-by-play duties for the Golden Tigers for over 25 years. Woodard will provide color analysis for the network. The former TU great played linebacker with Denver Broncos, San Diego Chargers and the Pittsburgh Steelers. He is also known as the first Tuskegee player to compete in a Super Bowl during the 1986-87 season.

Coming Out Party
Prior to the Morehouse game, receiver Chardian Johnson had one reception for 35 yards. Last saturday against the Maroon Tigers the Brewton, Ala. native hauled in four catches for 94 yards

October Fest
* In the last five seasons, Tuskegee has posted a record of 21-2 in the month of October. Their last defeat came in 2015 against UNC-Pembroke
