ATLANTA | James Eads led Tuskegee University with 14 points as the Golden Tigers fell to Clark Atlanta University in Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) action Wednesday night at L.S. Epps Gymnasium.
Eads finished the night connecting on 7-of-8 from the free throw line, while hitting just 3-of-11 from the floor. While he was the only player in double figures for the Golden Tigers,
Joshua Culver scored seven points and added five rebounds, while
Elijah McMillan added five points and six rebounds in his first game of the season.
Tuskegee (1-9, 0-2 SIAC) shot 30.4 (17-of-56) percent from the floor and 13.3 (2-of-15) percent from beyond the arc, while hitting 55.6 (10-of-18) percent from the free throw line in the loss. Meanwhile, Clark Atlanta (5-4, 1-0 SIAC) shot 48.8 (21-of-43) percent from the floor and 33.3 (4-of-12) percent from beyond the arc. The Panthers also shot 77.8 (21-of-27) percent from the free throw line.
Tajai Johnson led all scorers with 19 points, while Lawrence Triplett added 11. Anthony Williams and Samson Akilo each added 10 in the win for the Panthers.
The Golden Tigers had north to Charlotte to face Johnson C. Smith Thursday night at 7:00 pm (est).
