MELBOURNE, Fla. | The Tuskegee University men's basketball team fell short in their bid for a come-from-behind victory over Bluefield State, falling 75-70 at the Clemente Center in the team's final game at the Florida Tech Thanksgiving Tournament Saturday afternoon.
James Eads and
Travis Flagg each scored 15 points for Tuskegee (0-6) in the loss, with each hitting half of their shots (5-of-10) from the floor. Eads connected on 4-of-7 his free throws, while Flagg hit all three of his three-point attempts and both free throw attempts.
Alex Perry added 14 points, the second consecutive game the freshman has been in double figures, while
Myles Thomas finished with 10 points and five rebounds.
The Golden Tigers finished the day shooting 46 (23-of-50) percent from the floor and 50 (7-of-14) percent from beyond the arc. They also shot 77.3 (17-of-22) percent from the free throw line, while forcing 12 turnovers and pulling down 28 rebounds.
Meanwhile, Bluefield State (1-5) has five players in double figures including Josh Windham with 16 points and nine rebounds, while Julian Hernandez led the visitors with 17 points. Bluefield State shot 45.8 (22-of-48) percent from the floor and 47.4 (9-of-19) percent from beyond the arc in the win.
Tuskegee returns to action Wednesday on the road against Georgia College in Milledgeville (Ga.).
