TUSKEGEE, Ala. | The Tuskegee University men's basketball team returns to Chappie James Arena in search of their first victory, hosting Georgia College at 3:30 pm. It will mark the first of two consecutive home games for the Golden Tigers this month.
Tuskegee (0-2) is coming off of a 73-64 loss to Montevallo in a game they led most of the way until the final minutes. In that contest sophomore
James Eads, a preseason All-SIAC selection, scored a career-high 31 points while connecting on all 11 of his free throws.
Austin Cherry was the lone other player in double figures with 10 as the Golden Tigers found themselves in early foul trouble.
For the year, Eads leads Tuskegee in scoring at 18 points per game. Cherry is averaging eight points per game, while
Thomas Massey is at seven points per game through the first two games. Massey also leads the team in rebounds at six per game, while
Joshua Culver is at 5.5 per game. Point guard
Travis Flagg is at five rebounds per game while dishing out five assists per game through the first two contests.
As a team, Tuskegee is shooting 32.5 (37-of-114) percent from the floor and just 23.3 (7-of-30) from beyond the arc.
They will be facing a Georgia College (1-2) that is coming off of a 74-66 victory over Morehouse College earlier this week. The Bobcats are led by Chaz Berry and Brice Booker, each averaging 10.7 points per game through three games.
The game will be carried by WKZR-102.3 FM out of Milledgeville.
