Miami Shores, Fla. – After opening the season 2-0, the Tuskegee University Golden Tigers Baseball team traveled to Miami Shores to take on the Barry University Buccaneers. Tuskegee lost game one 14-2 and game two 13-3.
The Golden Tigers were unable to score until the top ninth inning when they scored two runs. They gave up two runs in the first inning, four in the second, one in the third, five in the sixth and ended the Bucs' scoring in the seventh, giving up two in the seventh.
John Bryant took the loss on the mound, dropping his record to 1-1 on the season.
In game two, the Golden Tigers didn't give as many runs and scored one more than they did in game one.
Tuskegee split their scoring between three innings, the third, and fourth and seventh – scoring one run in each. The Buccaneers exploded with six runs in the bottom of first. They added to their lead with two runs in the bottom of the fourth, three in the fifth and wrapped up with two in the sixth.
Jordyn Thomas took the loss on the mound, dropping to 0-1 for the season. The rubber match is scheduled for noon EST tomorrow.
