TUSKEGEE, Ala. | The Tuskegee University women's basketball came up short, despite a career-high from
Rachel Brownlee in a 76-54 loss to Columbus State University in non-conference action at Chappie James Arena on Saturday night.

Brownlee poured in 26 points on 7-of-13 shooting, including going 12-of-16 from the free throw line for Tuskegee (1-6).
Demetries McNealey added 16 points in the loss, going 5-of-9 from the floor, including hitting 3-of-4 from beyond the arc.

Brownlee added seven rebounds for Tuskegee, while
Jesslyn Mahone and
Halle Bentley each added six in the loss.

Tuskegee shot 33.3 (13-of-39) percent from the floor, including 50 (3-of-6) percent from beyond the arc. They also shot 62.5 (25-of-40) percent from the free throw line.

Michelle Mitchell led Columbus State (4-1) with 24 points, while Gabby Williams added 12 points. Ashley Asouzu narrowly missed a double-double for the Lady Cougars, as she finished with nine points and 20 rebounds.

Columbus State shot 45.3 (29-of-64) percent from the floor, including 21.1 (4-of-19) percent from beyond the arc. They also finished the night 70 (14-of-20) percent from the free throw line, while winning the rebounding battle 43-32.

Tuskegee returns to action on December 13 on the road at Jacksonville State University.
