TUSKEGEE, Ala. | The Tuskegee University men's basketball team returns to action Wednesday night in their first road contest, as they travel to face 20th-ranked University of Montevallo at Trustmark Arena.
The game will tip at 7:30, and is part of a doubleheader with the Montevallo women's program facing LeMoyne-Owen at 5:30.
General admission tickets are available at the door for $5 each for adults, with children 18 and under receiving free admission. Tickets are available for children, military and senior citizens for $3 each.
Tuskegee (1-1) and Montevallo (1-0) will meet for the fifth time in three years, with Montevallo holding a 5-2 advantage all-time in the series. The teams have met twice each year the last two years, with each winning on their home floor.
James Eads leads all Tuskegee scorers with 16 points per game, after scoring 15 against Fayetteville State on Friday and 17 against Johnson C. Smith on Saturday. The freshman scored 13 of his 15 points against Fayetteville State in the first half, then scored 11 of his 17 points against Johnson C. Smith in the second half.
Meanwhile, senior
Camden Foster is nearly averaging a double-double with 12.5 points and 8.0 rebounds. The senior missed a double-double by just one rebound in the season-opener against Fayetteville State with 13 points and nine rebounds. Senior point guard
Kevin May continues to run the show offensively with nine assists through two games.
May and freshman
Austin Cherry are each averaging nine points per game this season, with Cherry scoring 14 points in just 13 minutes against Fayetteville State off the bench. Freshman
Thomas Massey is second on the team in rebounding, averaging 6.5 rebounds per game.
Meanwhile for Montevallo, senior guard Terrell Lipkins scored a game-high 22 points on 9-of-17 shooting from the floor against Carver Bible. He also knocked down 3-of-5 attempts at the charity stripe while dishing out a game-high eight assists. Senior guard Bryant Orange registered the second double-double of his career with 18 points and 12 rebounds while also dishing out five assists. Orange, who made 6-of-11 attempts at the free-throw line, tied his career high with 12 rebounds.
Senior forward Tevin Worthy also posted a double-double with 13 points and 11 rebounds in his first action with the Falcons. Junior Talan Whitaker added 11 points as four Falcons finished with double figures in scoring.
