BIRMINGHAM, ALA. (March 6, 2014) – The Golden Tigers jumped out to a 17-0 lead before the Golden Bears could score a single point, but the local team irked its way back into the contest, erasing the double-digit lead the Golden Tigers built early in the game.

Richard Dixon, coming off the bench for the Golden Tigers, tallied 16 first half points to help Tuskegee carry a 35-32 lead into intermission.  Tuskegee connected on 15-of-29 shots, shooting 52 percent in the first half.

Dixon scored 11 additional points in the second half to lead all Golden Tigers scorers with 27 points. In the 80-72 Tuskegee (16-11) victory over Miles (4-24), Kevin May added 14 points, hitting 8-of-9 free throws.   Dixon also lead Tuskegee (16-11) with nine rebounds, followed by Camden Foster with seven.

The Golden Tigers will rest on Thursday and will return to action on Friday, March 7 (7:45 p.m.), facing the winner of Kentucky State and Albany State.
