The 2014 tennis schedule begins tomorrow at Tuskegee University, as the first of five home tennis matches will take place on the Pepsico Tennis Courts in 2014 with a 10:00 a.m. team matchup set against Stillman College.  The men are scheduled to play again two days later against Point University, while the women will play against Montevallo one week after the Stillman match.

The tennis team is still trying to regroup after the unfortunate loss of heralded teammate Bobby Smith last October.  In his memory, coach Ernest Grant has named Smith as honorary captain of the 2014 team.  The men's team will only play with eight players on the squad, with the ninth spot being held in Smith's honor.  Tuskegee University announced that a scholarship will be named in Smith's memory at his memorial service last year, which was held at the Tuskegee University Chapel.

The men's and women's teams will make a return trip to Tuscaloosa to finish the home-and-home series vs. Stillman, which will account for their only regular season competition outside of the scheduled conference round-ups that will take-place in the final weeks of February and March.  The February round-up will be held in Columbia, S.C., while the March round-up will be held in Memphis, Tenn.

The 2014 SIAC Tennis Championships are scheduled for April 9-12 in Atlanta, GA.
