Golden Tigers thrash Lane Dragons 102-71

TUSKEGEE, Ala. (February 22, 2014) –  The Tuskegee Golden Tigers (15-10, 12-4 SIAC)  raced to a 58-39 halftime lead and coasted to a 102-71 win over the Lane College Dragons (3-19, 1-16 SIAC) on Saturday evening.  Coach Leon Douglas unleashed fourteen players, maintaining their hold on first place in the SIAC West Division.

Graham Olatunji tallied 19 points and had six rebounds.  Troy Robinson contributed 16 points and Javier McKinney added 14.  Camden Foster drained 10 points and had seven rebounds to go with his six assists.

Tuskegee was 42-of-71 from the floor for 59 percent and Lane hit 31-of-71 shots for 48 percent.

The Dragons dressed out only nine players and five of them scored in double figures.  Sha'Mar Nolen led the Jackson, Tenn., squad with 14 points and Bryant Hill tossed in 12 and grabbed 10 rebounds.

Tuskegee reached the century mark for the second time this season and the first time at the James Center Arena since the 2002-2003 season.  It was the first time a Leon Douglas coached team has scored 100 or more points in a game at the James Center Arena.                                         

The Golden Tigers will host the Lions of Paine College on Senior Night on Tuesday at 7:30 p.m., before traveling to the Birmingham CrossPlex for the SIAC Basketball Tournament, March 3-8 at Bill Harris Arena.
