Golden Tigers continue climb in Division II and HBCU rankings Football | 9/20/2013 4:11:00 AM Game Notes vs. Winston-Salem State Heading into the 2013 Cleveland Classic, the Tuskegee University Golden Tigers managed to either maintain or improve their standing in every HBCU and NCAA Division II poll that matters. In the most recent poll release by the American Football Coaches Association, Tuskegee is ranked 17th after jumping two spots from their previous ranking at 19th. The Golden Tigers are currently ranked 18th in the D2Football.com poll, jumping three spots from their debut on the poll in the previous week in 21st place. They are still ranked behind North Carolina A&T and Bethune-Cookman, who was ranked as a unanimous #1 taking all 30 first-place votes. In the Heritage Sports Radio Network poll, the Golden Tigers maintain their top ranking in the Division II poll, taking 17 out of 18 first place votes. Winston-Salem State was the other school that took the remaining #1 vote. In the media poll from Boxtorow.com, Tuskegee is ranked #4 behind Bethune-Cookman, Tennessee State and North Carolina A&T. Dr. Cavil's Mid-Major Division HBCU Top 10 has both Tuskegee and Winston-Salem State taking the top two votes, with TU edging out WSSU in first place votes by a count of six to five.
