TUSKEGEE, Ala. – Tuskegee men's basketball will enter the 2025-26 season with two of the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference's top talents already earning recognition, as Kusamae Draper and Khalil Genwright have both been named to the Preseason All-SIAC First Team, the league office announced this week.
Draper proved to be one of the Golden Tigers' most reliable performers during the 2024-25 campaign, showcasing his ability to impact the game on both ends of the floor. The forward averaged 16.7 points per game while shooting 48.2 percent from the field, establishing himself as one of the SIAC's most efficient interior scorers.
He was also a force on the glass, pulling down 6.8 rebounds per contest, including several double-digit rebounding efforts. His season was highlighted by a 29-point performance against Kentucky State and a 15-rebound game versus Morehouse, while recording five double-doubles throughout the year.
Draper scored in double figures in 26 of 30 appearances, including a streak of ten straight contests, and topped 20 points in 10 games, cementing his role as a consistent offensive leader.
Joining Draper on the First Team is newcomer Khalil Genwright, who arrives at Tuskegee after a standout season at LeMoyne-Owen.
Genwright ranked among the league's premier guards last year, leading the Magicians with 16.6 points per game on 51.4 percent shooting from the field and 76 percent from the free throw line. He delivered several marquee performances, including 25 points at Delta State, 23 points at Albany State, and 24 points against Spring Hill.
Genwright scored in double figures in 24 of 27 appearances and averaged nearly 33 minutes per game as a starter, while adding 3.9 rebounds, 1.8 assists, and nearly one steal per game. His versatility and ability to rise to the occasion in key conference matchups made him a centerpiece of LeMoyne-Owen's attack and one of the most respected playmakers in the SIAC.
The duo gives Tuskegee a strong foundation heading into the new season as the Golden Tigers look to contend in the SIAC race. Draper brings proven scoring and rebounding to the frontcourt, while Genwright adds an explosive perimeter presence, giving Tuskegee a formidable inside-outside combination recognized among the league's very best.
Alongside the preseason honors, Tuskegee was also predicted to finish second in the SIAC West Division in the league's 2025–26 Preseason Predicted Order of Finish, announced at Wednesday's SIAC Media Day. Head Coach Benjy Taylor was joined at the event by Draper, Genwright, and returning guard RJ Walker, as the Golden Tigers earned recognition as one of the league's top contenders heading into the season.
Tuskegee was slotted just behind Miles in the West Division poll, while Savannah State was picked to lead the East. The second-place pick underscores the momentum of Taylor's program and the impact of both returning veterans and talented newcomers.
