ATLANTA, Ga. – The Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) has announced that Tuskegee standouts Kevin Sesberry and Kusamae Draper have been named to the 2024-25 All-SIAC Second Team. Both players have been key contributors for the Golden Tigers this season, helping lead the team into the quarterfinals of the SIAC Basketball Championship at Forbes Arena this week.
Sesberry has been the team's most versatile offensive player, leading Tuskegee in scoring with 17.3 points per game.
He showcased efficiency throughout the season, shooting 43.1 percent from the field and 36.2 percent from three-point range, while also converting 76.1 percent of his free throws. His ability to deliver in crucial moments made him one of the most reliable options in late-game situations. He posted 20 double-digit scoring performances, including seven games where he surpassed the 20-point mark. His most dominant outing came against Spring Hill, where he erupted for a season-high 33 points while shooting 68.4 percent from the field and 71.4 percent from the free-throw line.
The guard also posted 29-point performances against Georgia Southwestern and Kentucky State, proving his ability to take over games. On the glass, Sesberry averaged 4.6 rebounds per contest and recorded three games with eight or more boards. Defensively, he made a significant impact, tallying 30 steals and eight blocks over the course of the season. He recorded multiple steals in six games and had three games with multiple blocks, solidifying his presence on both ends of the floor.
Draper, Tuskegee's dominant force in the paint, was another crucial piece to the Golden Tigers' success.
He was one of the team's most efficient scorers, averaging 16.3 points per game while shooting 47.7 percent from the field. Draper was a relentless rebounder, leading the team with 6.9 boards per game, and served as the team's defensive anchor with 17 blocks and 21 steals. He delivered 20 double-digit scoring performances, including five games with 20 or more points. His best scoring outing came in a 27-point effort against Spring Hill, where he shot 50 percent from the field and grabbed nine rebounds.
Draper also had a standout performance against Morehouse in SIAC competition, recording a 22-point, 15-rebound double-double, one of his two double-doubles on the year. He was a consistent force on the boards, posting nine games with at least seven rebounds and securing a season-high 14 rebounds against Lane. Defensively, Draper protected the rim with multiple blocks in six games, including a season-best three-block performance against Miles.
With Sesberry and Draper leading the charge, the Golden Tigers enter the SIAC quarterfinals with a 14-13 overall record and an 11-9 mark in conference play. Tuskegee will face No. 3 seed Albany State on Thursday, March 6, at 8:00 p.m. ET inside Forbes Arena in Atlanta, Georgia. A win would send them to the semifinals on Friday, March 7, at 8:00 p.m. ET as they continue their quest for a conference championship.
