Tuskegee Basketball to Host First Round Matchups of SIAC Basketball Championship on March 1

TUSKEGEE, Ala. – The postseason begins on home court as both the Tuskegee men's and women's basketball teams are set to host first-round matchups in the 2024 SIAC Basketball Championship presented by Cricket on Saturday, March 1 inside the Daniel "Chappie" James Center.

Both Golden Tiger squads enter the tournament as the No. 2 seed in the SIAC West Division, earning the right to host the No. 7 seed from the East Division in the opening round.

The Tuskegee women's basketball team (No. 2 West, 17-9, 13-5 SIAC) will take on Albany State (No. 7 East, 1 p.m. CT), aiming to advance to the quarterfinal round at Forbes Arena on the campus of Morehouse College.

The Golden Tigers will look to extend their strong home-court presence and continue their push for a deep tournament run.

On the men's side, the Tuskegee Golden Tigers (No. 2 West, 13-13, 11-9 SIAC) will square off against Benedict College (No. 7 East) at 3:30 p.m. CT, as they seek to capitalize on their momentum heading into the postseason.

With an opportunity to move on to the quarterfinals at Morehouse College, Tuskegee is determined to defend its home floor and take the next step in the tournament.

With a passionate home crowd expected to fill the Chappie James Center, the Golden Tigers will look to take advantage of the home-court edge before making the trip to Atlanta for the later rounds of the SIAC Championship.

Winners will advance to the quarterfinal round at Forbes Arena at Morehouse College.
