87 Tuskegee Student-Athletes Earn SIAC Commissioner’s All-Academic Team

The Golden Tigers also earned eight team honors capturing the highest team GPAs in their respective sport

ATLANTA, Ga. — The Tuskegee University athletics department placed 87 student-athletes on the 2023-24 Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Commissioner's All-Academic Team.
 
TU saw 19 football student-athletes on the academic list, along with 11 in volleyball and baseball on the year. The Golden Tigers also had a combined 17 members between the men's () and women's cross country (4) and men's (4) and women's (5) track and field program. Tuskegee Tennis also had 12 members between the men's (5) and women's (6) program.

The SIAC Commissioner's All-Academic Team comprises a roster of student-athletes who excelled on their respective playing fields and in the classroom, earning a 3.2 or better cumulative grade point average for the academic year.

Student-athletes named to the SIAC All-Academic Team held the highest cumulative grade point averages within their respective sports.

The Golden Tigers led individual team honors, capturing the football, men's cross country, men's basketball, women's basketball, men's track and field, baseball, softball and men's tennis team awards.
 
Tuskegee also had six student-athletes make the All-Academic teams in their sport, including Mark Blakemore who got the nod in both cross country and track and field, a pair of volleyball players in Chloe Edwards and Keerin Stoddart, men's tennis player Kenneth Garrett, and baseball player Ryan Morrow.
