TUSKEGEE, Ala. __ Tuskegee University's Golden Tigers men's basketball team has announced its 2024-25 season schedule, filled with exciting conference and non-conference matchups.
Under the leadership of head coach
Benjy Taylor, the Golden Tigers are poised to build upon last season's success and make a strong push in the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC).
The schedule features key contests in both neutral-site tournaments and 12 highly anticipated home games at Daniel "Chappie" James Arena, with the season running from early November through the end of February.
The Golden Tigers tip off their season on November 8, 2024, with a neutral-site game against Christian Brothers in Jackson, Tennessee, as part of the GSC-SIAC Crossover Challenge. They continue their weekend in Jackson by taking on Union University the following day.
Both games will test the team's early-season form against non-conference opponents.
Tuskegee begins conference play on November 13, traveling to face Albany State in Albany, Georgia, marking their first SIAC matchup of the season.
They return to non-conference action on November 16, when they participate in the ATL HBCU Challenge, taking on Fayetteville State in Atlanta. The Golden Tigers will play their home opener on November 21 against Talladega and then host Georgia Southwestern State on November 26 to close out the month.
December brings more intense competition as Tuskegee dives into SIAC play. They start the month with a December 7 showdown at home against Clark Atlanta. The team will also participate in the U.S. Virgin Islands Basketball Classic, where they will play Clinton College on December 13, testing their skills against a challenging neutral-site opponent.
The Golden Tigers return to Tuskegee for two home games before the holiday break, facing Benedict College on December 19 and Allen University on December 21. These matchups will be crucial as the Golden Tigers aim to build momentum heading into the new year.
Tuskegee opens 2025 on the road, with critical conference games against Savannah State on January 4 and Edward Waters on January 6. Both matchups are pivotal as the Golden Tigers look to establish themselves in the SIAC standings early in the year.
On January 11, the Golden Tigers travel to Memphis to take on LeMoyne-Owen, before returning home for three key conference games: Morehouse on January 15, Central State on January 18, and Kentucky State on January 20.
The team ends the month with two tough road games, first against SIAC rival Miles College on January 25 and then against Lane College on January 27.
February will be a critical month for the Golden Tigers as they continue their pursuit of a conference title. The month begins with back-to-back road games at Spring Hill College on February 1 and Fort Valley State on February 4.
Tuskegee then returns home for matchups against Miles College on February 8 and Lane College on February 10, looking to avenge their earlier road contests.
The Golden Tigers will face their last two road tests of the regular season on February 15 against Kentucky State and February 17 against Central State. They conclude the regular season at home with a game against Spring Hill on February 22 and a final matchup against LeMoyne-Owen on February 24.
Following the conclusion of the regular season, Tuskegee will shift its focus to the SIAC Basketball Championships, scheduled to begin on March 1. The Golden Tigers will be looking to make a deep run in the tournament and secure a spot in the NCAA Division II playoffs.
With a balanced mix of conference and non-conference matchups, the 2024-25 season promises to be an exciting one for the Golden Tigers. Fans are encouraged to come out and support the team as they embark on their journey toward SIAC supremacy.
