TUSKEGEE, Ala. __ Golden Tiger senior guards
Gregg Boyd (Seat Pleasant, Md.) and
Devin Booker (Chicago, Ill.) were named to the 2022 SIAC All-Conference First and Second team respectively, announced by the conference on Saturday.
Boyd is second in scoring on the team at 13.3 points per game and assists at 2.5 per game. He is one of lone player to start over 20 games for Tuskegee this season. Boyd ranked third in threes made (64), fourth in free throw percentage (83.3), 13th in scoring, and 14th in assists among SIAC players. The guard also scored in double figures in 18 games and recorded season-highs of 40 points and six steals against Morehouse, including a 15-for-16 mark from the free throw line (Dec. 3) and dished out three or more assists in 11 games on the year.
Booker led Tuskegee offensively, scoring a team-high 14.4 points, good for ninth in the SIAC, along with grabbing 3.7 rebounds and dishing out 2.7 assists per game, which also leads the team on the year. The senior also was stellar defensively from his guard spot, leading the team 1.9 steals which is tied for third in the conference. Booker is currently shooting 42.4 (92-of-217) percent from the field, 34.4 (31-for-90) percent from long range and 78.9 (30-for-38) percent from the charity stripe, on his way to 12 double figure games, including three for over 20. Also scored a season-high 29 on the road against Lane (Feb. 4).
