ATLANTA, Ga. – The Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) has released their preseason honors just ahead of the Men's Basketball Media Day, with senior
Gregg Boyd (Seat Pleasant, Md.) earning Second Team honors, announced Thursday by the league office.
The preseason honors and predicted order of finish are voted on by the league's head coaches and sports information directors.
Fifth-year senior for the Golden Tigers who has put up career numbers of 9.8 points, 2.2 assists, and 1.7 rebounds per game in 72 career contests. When last seen during the shortened 2020-21 season, the Seat Pleasant, Md. native finished seventh in the NCAA with a 94% free throw percentage while leading the conference in free throws made (52) in 2020-21.
Boyd also ranked third in the SIAC and led the Golden Tigers with 16.7 points per game, placed fourth in the league by averaging 2.20 three-pointers a contest and made 42.5% of his field goals (51-of-120) and 39.3% from behind the arc (24-for-61). He also scored in double figures in all but three games, including a 30-point game against Spring Hill and four games over 20 points on the two seasons ago.
