MONTEVALLO, Ala. - The Tuskegee University cross country teams competed in their longest distance to date as the women ran the 5K while the men completed the 8K at the Falcon Classic hosted by Montevallo.

Jelani White was one of the few participants that had prior experience running an 8K, setting a new personal-best at 30:40.86 to claim 46th.

Steven Baker was the next Golden Tiger to cross the finish line, running a 33:24.05 for 58th place.

Johnathan Licea ended the morning in the 64th position, posting a 35:24.10 mark.

The final TU men's runner to finish was Jury Sims, completing the course in 39:07.20 to rank 72nd.

Conlin Williams made his Tuskegee debut, but was unable to finish the race.

For the Tigerettes, Angelique Johnson fronted the pack for the third straight meet, slotting in at 39th with a 23:34.53 time.

Alyssa Wilkins-Jones barely snuck inside the top-50 runners, earning the elusive 50th position at a 25:31.01 clip.

Jasmyne Lawrence ran a 28:37.93 to come in at 64th place while Makayla Richardson made her TU debut in a time of 36:13.22, good for 76th.

Tuskegee cross country will get a reprieve next weekend before returning to Montgomery for the Huntingdon College Invitational on the Greenbriar Track, October 1.
