The Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference has named Devarens Valcin as its SIAC Special Teams Player of the Week. The announcement out of Atlanta was made on Tuesday. Today marks the third time this season she's been recognized by the league office.

Valcin made the most entertaining play of the night against Division I FCS opponent Alabama State. With TU leading by only one point 24-23 in the third quarter, he returned a kickoff 99 yards for a touchdown, which put the Golden Tigers ahead 31-23. The Lauderdale Lakes, Fla. native made history being that it was the longest return for a TD since Michael Scott's 93 run back against Savannah State in 1993.

The Golden Tigers return to action Saturday at Kentucky State. Kickoff is set for 3 p.m.
