Former Golden Tiger signs pro contract in Germany

Former Tuskegee University basketball player, Daniel Roach has decided to extend his game to the professional ranks, signing a contract to play for the Ascherleben Tigers in Aschersleben, Germany. The deal was complete earlier this week.

The Tigers are a member of the Regionalliga North Division, the fourth tier of the German basketball league system. Last season, the Tigers went finished with an appearance in the Final Four. Aschersleben is located just over two hours southwest of Berlin in the northeast portion of Germany.

Roach lettered four years at TU, played in all 28 games during the 2018-19 season and was second on the team in blocked shots with 21. Eight times the Suwanee, Ga. native scored in double figures, with five of those coming in succession. The 6'7 forward from Collins High School scored a season-high 16 points at Auburn-Montgomery including making three baskets from three point range. Roach also connected on a career high four three pointers against Shorter College. 

The 2019-2020 season is set to begin in September 20.
