Former Tuskegee University receiver DeVozea Felton is settling in after making his Alliance of American Football (AAF) debut last Sunday with the Birmingham Iron, located in Birmingham (Ala.). The All-SIAC wide-out hauled in one catch for 32 yards against the Memphis Express.

The Alliance of American Football is a new professional football league founded by TV and film producer Charlie Ebersol and Hall of Famer Bill Polian. The Alliance will feature eight teams with 52-player rosters playing a 10-week regular season schedule. Felton has earned the nickname "Turbo" for his ability to take the top off a defense.

In Sunday's opener, he lined up at slot receiver and handled the team's kick and punt return duties. He's turned heads with his long speed, but his hands have also been impressive. "He flies," Iron quarterback Blake Sims said of Felton. "In a blink of an eye, he's gone."

Felton  played with the Golden Tigers in 2014 and 2015. As a freshman, the Buford, Ga. native earned a spot on the Black Sports Network All-Super Region team, while also earning All-SIAC honors. The ensuing season, he was voted on as a pre-season all conference selection.

During his last season at TU, Felton saw action at receiver, running back and kick returner. He caught eight passes for 102 yards. He averaged 12.75 yards per reception with a season-long of 22 yards. He moved to running back for the NCAA Division II playoffs and responded with six carries for 72 yards... Averaged 12 yards per carry... Recorded a season-long run of 50 yards against North Alabama in the second round of the NCAA Division II playoffs... Returned 10 kickoffs for 226 total yards, averaging 22.60 yards per return... Returned a kickoff back 82 yards against Stillman for a touchdown, earning him SIAC Special Teams Player of the Week honors... Returned seven punts for 20 yards, averaging 2.86 yards per return... Recorded a season-long nine yard return.
