The Tuskegee University men's and women's cross country teams will open the 2018 season at Jacksonville State University in its annual JSU Struts Opener in Oxford, Ala. but at a new site

Teams will complete at a new course at Choccolocco Park in Oxford, Ala. There will be only one division of each race unlike past years where Div. I teams were scored separately from Div. II and lower. The women's 5K race is set to begin at 6 p.m., with the men's 7K following at approx. 6:45. 

Last season David Dixon,  who crossed the line first on the men's side clocked in at 6:14.7 and returns for the 2018 campaign. As a freshmen on last year's roster,  Austin Henderson followed shortly behind with a time of 6:32.0. On the women's side, they were paced by Kayla Howard who finished with a time of 7:11.2. Her teammate Kailyn Hill was just behind at 7:32.7.
