Allen Bowen was hired as the Head Cross Country Coach in August of 2021.
Allen Bowen comes to Tuskegee bringing with him a wealth of experience. Coach Bowen loves building programs from the ground up and believes laying the proper foundation is not only the key to life but the key to winning. He has worked as an AD to a start-up magnet school program putting 7 out of 10 teams into the final 4 in his first year at Floyd Middle School, leaving the school with a nice surplus of funds and resources. He then moved on to Brew Tech Magnet high in his spare time and began building the program into one of the most respected programs in the state, winning over 20 individual state titles in a very short period of time and eventually winning the 5A 2020 indoor girls state championship with only 7 girls and a runner up at the outdoor state champions.Â
Bowen has produced state champions in the 60m, 100m, 200, 400m, long jump, high jump, triple jump, shot put, 4 x 200m, and 4 x 400m relays while at Brew Tech. He has also produced state champions in the 800m, 1500m, and 3000m while many other student athletes placed in the top three in the state. He has coached many to national recognition  (37 total individual state champions, over 50 all-American awards, a total of 6 National Champions, and a plethora of student-athletes at division I, II, NAIA, and III institutions.Â

Bowen lettered as a track standout at Stillman College as a 100m, 200m, high jump and long jumper. Â
As a volunteer at Tuskegee in track and field in the first year he produced 3 medals at conference his first year assisting while the second year was post-ones because of COVID-19Â but saw 26 top five school times/standards recorded by the 3rd meet.
He is married to his college sweetheart Dawneese Bowen and they have three children: Â Jalyn (recent tiger belle and graduate at Tennessee State), Aaron (Tuskegee), and Allison (already a well recruited junior at Brew Tech).
Coach Bowen holds degrees in Graphic Design/Communications, and Biblical Studies. He presently is pursuing a degree in Human Services and is Pastor of St. Mark Missionary Baptist Church in Montgomery and also in a Small Business Advisor for the Small Business Development Center at Alabama State University. He also operated a business for 18 years and had clients in 5 states.
He is a 2-time cancer champion.
