Freshman Jamiah Breda-Nixon was named the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) Newcomer of the Week this week, announced by the conferene office on Monday.

In four matches at the SIAC West Cluster, Breda-Nixon finished with 34 kills on 61 attempts. The freshman ended the weekend hitting .361. She also recorded 10 aces and 16 digs. Her best match of the weekend came against Kentucky State in which she recorded eight kills, two aces and 13 digs. She recorded 11 kills and four aces against Lane.
