Mission Statement: The Department of Athletics is committed to the academic development of all student-athletes.  It is of the highest priority to exhibit academic excellence in the department, graduate all student athletes and prepare them for future learning and career opportunities.

Goals of the Department: Be recognized on campus, within the conference and nationally for academic excellence by providing the student-athlete with an environment in which exceptional scholastic performance can be achieved; Reward and recognize academic excellence of student athletes; Build and enhance relationships with faculty, advisors and academic units on campus.

NCAA Eligibility 101: To be eligible for intercollegiate athletics a student-athlete must be enrolled as a full-time student (12+ credit hours), Be in good academic standing; Maintain a 2.0 cumulative GPA; Pass at least 9 (nine) credit hours in the previous semester; Pass at least 18 credit hours in the Fall/Spring semesters combined; Pass at least 24 credit hours annually (only 6 credit hours will be accepted from the Summer term); and Officially declare your major prior to the 5th full-time semester.

Study Hall: Study Hall is required for all freshmen and transfer student-athletes, and any student-athlete whose cumulative GPA is less than a 2.30 on a 4.0 scale. All student-athletes that attend study hall are required to study three days a week for an hour each day. Study hall is open Monday through Friday, and tutors will be available. Each student that attends stidy hall will be signed by the academic counselor or study hall monitor. More information on T-CAEIL is located above.
