Tuskegee University freshman guard Jalynn Estrada was named the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) Newcomer of the Week for her performance against Clark Atlanta in a conference victory last week.

The Skokie (Ill.) native scored a career-high 11 points against Clark Atlanta en route to helping the Tigerettes claim a 74-72 overtime victory over the Panthers, the third consecutive road victory for Tuskegee this season and the third overtime victory of the year. The freshman connected on just 4-of-10 from the floor, but was 3-of-7 from behind the arc.

Of the three three-pointers Estrada connected on, two of those came in the final 30 seconds to send the game to overtime. The freshman connected on a three-pointer with 29 seconds remaining to pull Tuskegee within three before Clark Atlanta missed a shot on the other end with 11 seconds remaining in the contest. The final three-pointer Estrada connected on came with 0.2 seconds remaining in the contest, banking in the tying shot to send the game into overtime.
