Williams was the top finisher of the day for Tuskegee at the Cougar Invite in the shot put, finishing with a distance of 13.76 meters (45-01.75). He finished .14 meters behind eventual champion, Antravious Parks of Albany State. Williams also finished fifth in the discus with a distance of 35.10 meters (115-02), picking up five points for the Golden Tigers.

He finished third in the discus with throw of 34.44 meters at the Adonica Ferguson Relays. Williams went on to claim the individual title in the shot put with a distance of 12.60 meters
