Tuskegee University freshman Matthew Reed was named as the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Player of the Week, announced by the conference office Tuesday morning. The freshman made three plate appearances in Tuskegee's lone game of the week and finished 1-for-2 with a homerun and a walk. The freshman hit his first career homerun, a three-run shot, against Columbus State on Wednesday. Reed finished with a run scored and three runs batted in.
